Keep the flame going if you want to stay warm until spring! Never feel the stress again with these cheap date night ideas for your significant other (or your bff).
Relax…Outside your Apartment
Take a few hours and head to the many bathhouses or day spas New York City has to offer. Many times you can keep this under $100 for two people for a few hours in the hot environment all steamy and relaxed. Bathhouses will let you escape the deep freeze currently bracing our area and offers you and your SO to have a cool new experience together. There are many bathhouses and day spas throughout the city that let you sit in steam rooms, saunas, salt rooms, relaxation rooms, etc, just from a simple Google search.
Try out one of the more famous ones, Russian & Turkish Baths in the East Village (location is really easy to get to from any Bedly apartment). You can get into a sauna, get a massage, or even try your hand at the fresh oak leaves here. For just $45 per person, you can gain access and have a fun time with your beau.
Great way to get out of the cold and warm up is by walking for a couple hours at a museum- specifically the Museum of Sex. This museum has more that just “art” to admire, they offer a bounce house, rock climbing room, and a ride on their unique bike all with a sexy twist. Exhibits here range from sex in the animal kingdom to nearly 20,000 artifacts. Pro-tip: there are usually discounts on their admission tickets on their website or Groupon. Let the interesting conversations commence!
While snuggling up all day and night sounds romantic and the best thing ever, you will need to move eventually and what better way to do it then hitting up a gym or studio?! Brooklyn is just home to all the fun, cheap, creative things to do! Travel back in time and take a ride on Jane’s Carousel in Dumbo Brooklyn. Like most of our date night suggestions, this one is perfect to Instagram! It will really add some color in this dull time of winter. One of the best features- its only $2 for a ticket! Spend some time day drinking in DUMBO before hand and grab some pizza, too. This carousel ride also offers an awesome view of Manhattan.
When you just can’t be indoors anymore, go ice skating! We highlighted our top four spots here, but the main attraction is Bryant Park. This can be your perfect weekend date exploring the winter village, getting some of the best hot apple cider, and munching on some crepes before you hit the ice. It’s also the only rink that offers free admission (skate rental is $20). The rink is open until March 4th so you have plenty of time. But don’t wait! You’ll want to check it out when it’s snowing for the perfect winter scene.
