The Museum at FIT
From now until January 6 you can take a spin through the Museum at FIT that looks at “Expedition: Fashion from the Extreme”. Here you can view ensembles that were influenced by travels to the highest peaks of mountains, North and South Poles, outer space, and underwater. This is a cutting-edge fashion exhibition. And yes, it is free!
With multiple temporary exhibitions ending in January, this is the perfect time to visit the MET. Rodin at the MET, Leonardo to Matisse- Master Drawings from the Robert Lehman Collections, and World War I and the Visual Arts are just a few exhibits that are closing within the coming weeks. While the MET does have a suggested donation, it does not make it a requirement, therefore, you can take a day and explore this magnificent museum. Choose a cold winter day and bundle up inside with some of the most famous and intellectual works from our world’s history.
Brooklyn Tribute To Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
If you’re lucky enough to snag a Bedly apartment in Brooklyn then this is in your backyard! Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is hosting a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 15th. There’s a speech from a notable keynote speaker (not announced yet but check their website) and there will be a host a musical performances by gospel legends, all in honor of King.
Our Wicked Lady
Located close to several Bedly apartments, Our Wicked Lady in Williamsburg has a monthly gig from Tyler Richardson. This comedic lineup has something for everyone. While it is a free event, you can tip via Venmo to the comics that really make you laugh. This month features Yedoye Travis, Christina Galston, Fumi Abe, Chike Robinson, Victor Varnado, Rufat Agayev and Katie Boyle. You can check out locations and the updates on their website.
DoublePlusGood Comedy Show
Also in Brooklyn is the DoublePlusGood Comedy Show at Salzy. This is a monthly showcase of comedians that have full lengh sets (as opposed to 10 minutes some clubs give), in a super chill environment which makes it the perfect conditions for a full night of laughter. The next show is Wednesday, January 17th. Maybe make this a night out with the roommates!
No Pants Subway Ride
Happening every year since 2002, the No Pants Subway Ride is the most amusing commute you’ll ever have. Get ready! his year’s No Pants Subway Ride is Sunday, January 7 from 3–5pm. Luckily for all the Bedly residents there are meet up locations all throughout New York City. Here’s the meet up locations:

Grand Central Partnership Walking Tours
Every Friday at 12:30PM, there is a free tour of Grand Central just waiting for you to join! No reservations are required for this award-winning walking tour with two historians leading the way. This tour hits the ‘whispering gallery’ inside the terminal and the Chrysler Building, providing a survey of many of the architecturally and historically significant sights.
New York Public Library
Stay warm and tour one of the most famous libraries of the world! Free tours take place at 11am and 2pm Monday to Saturday, 2pm Sunday (closed Sunday in summer). Replace a tour with your weekend brunch and feel a little bit more cultured heading into your work week. This is the perfect spot to get you Sex and the City ‘gram, or to cozy up next to the ‘Patience’ and ‘Fortitude’ (the two stone lions that great you coming in). And since you’ll be living in a New York City Bedly apartment, you can apply for a library card (open to NYC residents), and even check out a book while you’re there!
Stick to that New Year’s resolution and try a free first class at Orangetheory Fitness! Just call ahead to one of their locations and to sign up for your first class and boom, you have a one hour sweat waiting for you for free.
